Post

Time
If you have not noticed, the theme of starting a new blog is patience.  Do not rush your post.  If you cannot sit down and write a well thought-out, planned post, then it is simply not time for new content to be posted on your blog.  You will lose more followers through publishing rushed material than you will taking an extra day or two to post high quality content.

Too Short
Less than 300 words? Too short. The longer the post, the better.  This does not mean that you should write a post that is 10% quality and 90% space-fill.  If you know that you become tired towards the end of your post, take a break and come back later to finish strong.

Spelling and Grammar
You are posting content for the world to see therefore it is important for your content to be free of spelling and grammar mistakes.  One secret that teachers have is that they stop reading a 10 page student report if there are a large amount of spelling and grammar mistakes in the first few pages.  The same is true with your audience.  You will lost readers if you have a large amount of spelling and grammar mistakes.

Unique
What are you telling me about a topic that the other blogs/news outlets has not told me? Do not just paraphrase, instead tell me something new.  If you are blogging about a topic that does not have a large amount of coverage, make a post that combines all the information that does exist.

The following book is a great resource that can be used to write better post:
