The internet is full of information. What can you provide that has not been provided? How can you provide information in a more precise manner than other sites? It is easy to give up here yet for every MySpace there is a Facebook. Although it may seem like everything has been done and perfected, that is far from the truth. Pick something. Compare the best sites that are in the field that you choose and plan to synthesize.
Passion
Everyone says to choose a topic that you are passionate about because blogging takes time. If it is not a topic that you are passionate about, be dedicated to producing quality information on a regular basis or else you will fail.
Be Creative
If there is information that you are required to type-up, why not make it a blog? There are bloggers that publish their class notes since they are required to take notes in class, they have decided to make the notes available as a resource for others.
Money
Most people that choose their topic based on what the 'experts' say are the money-makers end up quitting after a few short months. Who wants to write about something that they do not care for. You will hate blogging if you do not love the topic of your blog.
