10 Ways to Make Your Content Go Viral

People around the world attempt to make money every day by creating a blog, submitting content and then posting links to social media websites.  About 3 months later the site is no longer updated because the person has decided that it was a waste of time.

The good news is that if you are one of the rare individuals willing to continue blogging, researching social media marketing and implement the lessons you learn strategically, your website is destined for success.  The key is being determined not stubborn.

First and far-most, there is no easy way out! Making a post go viral, and succeeding as a blogger overall, takes a substantial amount of time and effort.  There are some proven strategies that may assist you in your attempt to make your article go viral.  Here are 10 tips that we use on a consistent basis.


  1. Publish more articles that are over 2,000 words.  Studies show that internet users are more likely to share longer articles.
  2. Post backlinks to forums in your niche.  If you have a sports blog, CBSSports.com is a great place to submit comments for backlinks.
  3. Include a Top 10 list in your article.  Lists with 10 items get the most shares.
  4. Post more articles.  If at first you do not succeed, try again and again and again...
  5. Write an article that would make you smile.  People deal with stress all day therefore if you can make them feel good they will share your article and be back for more.
  6. Create an e-book and include a link to it in your article.
  7. Create content that appeals to multiple markets.  For example, if you are writing a post about advertising include information on B2B as well as B2C.  This way both businesses and consumers will find value in the content and potentially share it.
  8. Thank your readers for visiting your article and express a desire to learn more about your them.
  9. Anticipate the questions readers will have as they read and provide answers that inspire readers take action.
